Lars Mikkelsen-3-1024x657Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964 is a Danish actor. He has appeared as Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in The Killing, a drama series,[1] Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third season of Sherlock and the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix, and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour At at the age of 27, he enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark from where he graduated in 1995. In addition to his role in the drama show aired worldwide under the title The Killing he subsequently appeared in two more internationally well-known Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He was the President of Russia in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. In 2018, he received an International Emmy Award for his character in the character in the Danish television drama Herrensveje. The show aired in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019.
