Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic, is also a popular public speech writer. Feminist Frequency is a site which hosts video and commentary on the representation of gender roles in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American media critic and blog writer who has won awards for her work, is a feminist blogger. Feminist Frequency is a non-for profit site for education that investigates female representations in popular culture narratives - is created and directed by Sarkeesian. Committed to deconstructing the stereotypes associated with women in pop culture she also is a vocal advocate for issues relating to harassment targeted at women and the other marginalized groups of the Internet world. Sarkeesian who has an MA in Social and Political thought at York University, is a well-known public speaking. She has delivered speeches at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group for Gender. Feminist Frequency was launched in 2009 by Sarkeesian, a University student who has been involved in topics related to gender and feminism since a long time. In 2009, the ebullient young woman was targeted by the Internet for starting a web featuring a series about gender and videogames. It was not enough to stop her. It actually increased her importance to being a feminist and a media critic. She has won several awards for her contributions to the cause of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic for several years and was the creator of Feminist Frequency. This educational non-profit explores the role of women within the popular culture stories.
