Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an actor, journalist an author, philanthropist on television and television for more than 10 years. She also is the owner of The Huffington Post, an openly-liberal newsmagazine online. From Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA diploma in Economics. She was elected president at the age of 21 of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to do so. When she graduated, she made her mark as an editor for a conservative newspaper as well as with the launch of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created an online voice portal which gave critical opinions on the political scenario. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts regarding news in the field of culture and politics. Arianna became famous during 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the recall vote in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. She also headed the Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Her rank was 12th on Forbes' ranking of the most influential female journalists. At the time, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the youngest daughter of Konstantinos, a journalist and a management consultant. They were very close to her father. However, it was her connection with her mother who shaped her. She showed leadership traits throughout her childhood. When she was 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she went on to become the first female president, and also the only foreign president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. After after graduation she was a TV host and columnist. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She started writing books after obtaining his assistance in editing.
