Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on January 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She had a family of 12 kids. The vivid imagination of her mother enabled her to escape the savage realities of daily life. Even before learning to compose or read, she composed her own tunes. In the year she turned 8 when she bought the first electric guitar she owned and began to sing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. At the same time when she began recording her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small label. Despite being in college, she already made a name for herself locally. The goal for her was to be more widely known. Following her graduation in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Her first charting hits on Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to perform on his show syndicated by him in the years prior to this. Parton agreed to the position and in the year 1967, she signed with RCA Records in 1968 and began singing for the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. In 1974, she resigned from Wagoner's Show because the success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats in Many Colors or Jolene was way ahead of their joint release. Parton wrote I Will Always love You for Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It reached No. The song of Parton in 1974. I Will Always Love You climbed to No.
